9mobile, which recently rebranded as T2, is currently under investigation in Benue State, north central Nigeria, for an undisclosed incident believed to have adversely affected Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD), Short Message Service(SMS), Voice and Data services.
The areas affected are Ado, Agatu, Gwer East, Gwer West, Konshisha, Obi, Ohimini, Okpokwu, and Oturkpo.
The foregoing is contained in an advisory published on NCC Major Outages Portal. The platform updates stakeholders on significant service disruptions reported by Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and Internet Service Providers (ISPs).

Details of the service disruptions and steps being taken by T2 to address the service challenge are not available as neither T2 directly or through its Public Relations Managers Chain Reactions, have responded to our inquiry as at the time of this report.
It is curious also why the telecommunications sector regulator continues to refer to T2 as 9mobile, months after the change of name from 9mobile to T2 was made public, raising the question as to whether or not T2 communication managers communicated the name change officially to the regulator?
