Born and raised in South Australia, Maher is best known for his eighteen-year professional basketball career, representing Australia at three Olympic Games and one World Championship. Now serving as a senior fireman with the South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service, he continues to embody courage and community spirit—qualities that shine throughout his debut work of fiction.

About the Author
Brett Maher is a three-time Olympian, retired professional basketball player, and community advocate based in South Australia. After nearly two decades in elite sport, he now serves as a senior firefighter and enjoys giving back through mentoring and charity initiatives. The Adventures of Jack Gibson is his first foray into writing, combining his love of storytelling, adventure, and family connection.
