As the wireless industry advances toward 6G, this quarter marked an important moment for both technology and policy. At 5G Americas, we released two new white papers: 5G-Advanced Overview and Transforming Industries with Integrated Sensing and Communication. These papers highlight the breadth of innovation coming through 5G-Advanced — from energy-efficient networks to entirely new capabilities like sensing that could transform industries from automotive to healthcare.

But technology doesn’t exist in a vacuum. All of this innovation depends on a robust spectrum pipeline. North America is at a crossroads: without a clear, long-term plan to allocate mid-band and high-band spectrum, the region risks falling behind in deploying the very features that will define 5G-Advanced and lay the groundwork for 6G. Policymakers, regulators, and industry stakeholders must act decisively to ensure continued US leadership in wireless.

This is why 5G Americas is sharpening its focus on North America’s innovation-first approach. Our region is not simply following global adoption curves, it is defining how 5G networks become AI-ready, programmable, and open to non-terrestrial integration. From satellite broadband and IoT ecosystems to edge-based AI services, North America is pioneering the business models and architectures that will shape the future.

As we continue to publish thought leadership and convene stakeholders, our mission remains clear: to ensure that North America has the spectrum, policies, and innovation environment needed to lead in 5G today and 6G tomorrow.
