Media accreditation rounds off on 27 May for ITU’s World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC) and Journalists  interested in covering the conference are urged to submit their request for registration and accreditation as soon as possible to allow time for processing.

“There will be no accreditation possible onsite, and no entry to the event venue or access to conference livestreams without approved credentials,” states the ITU.

The conference, which will be held in Kigali, Rwanda, from 6-16 June, is expected to welcome around 1,200 delegates, including leaders from government, the corporate sector, pan-regional bodies such as the African Union, the European Commission, regional and global development agencies, academia and research institutions, and members of the global financing community.

The conference will be preceded by the Generation Connect Global Youth Summit, welcoming an estimated 400 young delegates aged 18-29 from around the world.

It will also feature a new multi-stakeholder partnership and pledging programme, the Partner2Connect (P2C) Digital Coalition, where participants will discuss innovative digital development strategies and showcase major pledges and commitments to connect the world.
