The International Institute of Communications(IIC) Italy Chapter and the Italian Communications Regulatory Authority(Agcom) are partnering on a webinar that will explore insights for a balanced regulation and considering platforms benefits and protection needs.
This joint event of the IIC Italian Chapter and Agcom aims to explore the benefits produced by the digital ecosystem and, in particular, by the rise of online platforms, beyond the immediate and obvious new business models and commercial offerings.
This line of inquiry stems from a conviction that any regulation of the digital environment must be proportionate, i.e. able to balance fundamental rights and freedoms, without affecting the technological development and economic growth of platforms.
Information on the online event communicated to Cyber Era NG by President IIC Italian Chapter Augusto Preta says the event also aims to explore the indirect benefits (second order positive externalities) arising from specific online services in relation to different fields through four parrallel thematic sessions.
Session 1: Economics, Finance, Labour
Session 2: Society, Culture, Environment: Social Networks
Session 3: Society, Culture, Environment: SVODs
Session 4: Law, Democracy, Institutions
An excellent line up of speakers has been assembled by the organisers.
