COVID-19 Scare: Nigeria Computer Society Postpones Interactive Session With Minister
…Says EATI’2020 Holds In July As Scheduled

Apparently toeing the same line for organizations who have had to shelve their events following the coronavirus(COVID-19) pandemic, that has deleted nearly 2000, worldwide, the bulk of the deaths occurring in China, the Nigeria Computer Society(NCS) has shifted an earlier scheduled Interactive Session of the Information Technology Community with the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami. Dr. Pantami is a Fellow of the Society.
The NCS announced on its website: “The Interactive Session between Industry Experts/IT Stakeholders and Minist(EATI’2020)er of Communications/ Digital Economy, organised by Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) has been postponed.
“The Honourable Minister will not be able to attend the meeting scheduled to start tomorrow (9th March, 2020) because of some pressing national assignments.”
While regretting inconveniences that the postponement may have caused , the NCS says the new dates will be communicated later.
Meanwhile, the NCS states its Emerging Applications and Technologies for Industry 4.0 (EATI’2020) built between Tuesday, July 21 to Thursday, July 23, 2020, will hold as earlier planned. It will hold at Ibom Hall, IBB Way, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, south south, Nigeria.
Explaining the underlying philosophy behind the event, the NCS says: “The advancement of digital technologies and its viral spread in the society is transforming the world economy into an autonomous digital economy with opportunities for national growth. The heart of emerging technologies such as the big data analytics, artificial intelligence, internet of things, cloud computing, robotics, internet of vehicles, blockchain, self-driving vehicles, etc. is data.
The fourth industrial revolution (4.0) is a journey to the transformation of the industry to autonomous industry and it will be integrated into the digital economy. Emerging Applications and Technologies for Industry 4.0 is dedicated to addressing the challenges and present strategies for developing autonomous digital economy.”
