The National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) on Wednesday December 22 published  the Call Notice No. 76/2021, with the rules for receiving nominations for filling two vacancies for effective members of the Small Providers Committee Size of Telecommunications Services with Anatel (CPPP). Nominations must be sent to the Agency by January 31, 2022.

Cyber Era NG  understands that only small provider class entities that have been in operation for at least two years can appoint representatives to the collegiate body. The vacancies will be filled from May 9, 2022 and the terms of office will be for two years, counted from the publication of the designation decree.

Those appointed to exercise the role of representative of a trade association for small providers must be reputable persons with unblemished reputation who have proven performance in the sector for at least three years, are chosen by the entity’s decision-making body and have relevant participation in projects in the sector.

In recent years, Anatel has implemented a series of regulatory actions aimed at Small Providers (PPPs), aiming at the expansion of internet services throughout the country. The Agency simplified the rules for the provision of fixed broadband services, with Resolution No. 680/2017; defined the concept of PPP through Resolution No. 694/2018; and approved the Internal Regulation of the Small Providers Committee through Resolution No. 698/2018.
