The National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) on Wednesday, December 22, published on its internet portal, List of Approved 5G Cell Phones , which includes information such as the model, trade name and manufacturer of the devices. Cell phones are the main interface between the user and the new fifth-generation networks, which are expected to start operating by the end of the 1st half of 2022 in Brazilian capitals.
As per Anatel, only telecommunications products approved by the Agency may be used in Brazil. The user must, therefore, check the list of approved cell phones before purchasing a device. The consumer must also verify the presence of the Anatel homologation seal, located on the equipment or in the manual, and can consult the operator about the product’s compatibility with the network.
The certification and approval guarantee the consumer the acquisition and use of telecommunications products that respect quality and safety standards, in addition to meeting the technical features regulated by Anatel that aim at the efficient and rational use of the radio spectrum, electromagnetic compatibility and non-aggression to the environment.
