This October, Techeconomy clocks nine years of covering Nigeria’s technology, business and digital economy story and the publishers have rolled out programmes to celebrate the achievement.

In a thank you message to his media colleagues for standing by them, Editor of Techeconomy, Peter Oluka said: “You have shared our stories, challenged our thinking, shown up at our events, and treated Techeconomy as a genuine partner in this industry rather than just another outlet competing for the same headlines. That kind of collegiality is rare, and we do not take it for granted. This letter is, first and foremost, a thank you, for the support, the goodwill, and the professional camaraderie you have extended to our team over the years.”

Marking the Milestone: GrowthX & TiLAwards, September 24, 2026

To mark this milestone, Techeconomy is hosting a mini-conference on Wednesday, September 24, 2026, at The Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos – structured as a full day of engagement:

• GrowthX by Techeconomy (Morning) – a conference session engaging industry leaders, regulators and innovators on the state and direction of Nigeria’s digital economy.

• TiLAwards – Technology Innovation and Leadership Awards (Evening) — an awards ceremony recognising the companies and individuals driving innovation and leadership across Nigeria’s tech and business landscape.

Per Oluka: “Together, these sessions are designed as both a moment of reflection on where the industry has come from, and a forward-looking conversation on where it is headed – fitting, we think, for an outlet that has spent nine years chronicling exactly that journey.

As we have on every major Techeconomy initiative, we would be honoured to have your support once again, whether that means covering the event, joining us as a media partner, amplifying it to your audiences, or simply being present on the day. Every bit of support from colleagues like you has been part of what has made Techeconomy’s journey possible, and we would love for this anniversary to be a shared celebration rather than one we mark alone.

We will follow up shortly with the full programme, speaker line-up, and partnership details. In the meantime, please do reach out with any questions, or if there’s a way we can support your own coverage plans around the event.”
