PNCC Cybersecurity Specialist Hannah Fakatou attended the USTTI–GCF Empowering Women to Leadership in Cyber programme in the United States from April 15–29, 2026, Cyber Era NG learns.

We gather that the training provided advanced leadership, cybersecurity, and operational skills through expert-led workshops and hands-on learning, sponsored by the US Telecommunications Training Institute and Global Cybersecurity Forum.

Ms. Fakatou commented: “It was a fantastic programme attended by women (leaders) in cybersecurity from 22 countries around the world where we traveled to D.C, Dallas, and Santa Clara (Silicon Valley).

“The programme focused on cyber resilience and diplomacy in an AI-driven world, covering emerging threats, post-quantum security, governance challenges, and the importance of collaboration and intentional leadership in cybersecurity.

“Through sessions with experts and visits to organizations including Ericsson, AT&T, Intel, Apple, and Google, the experience reinforced the importance of building trust, championing change, and applying these lessons to strengthen cybersecurity capacity within our organizations and communities.”

In line with PNCC’s focus on cybersecurity vigilance and global best practices, this marks an important step toward strengthening Palau’s national resilience and readiness in today’s rapidly evolving cybersecurity landscape.
