The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is marking the annual International Girls in ICT Day with an inter-generational dialogue organized with partners in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, on April 27.
The dialogue, open for remote participation and livestreamed worldwide, highlights this year’s Girls in ICT theme of “Digital Skills for Life.”
ITU regional events and other Girls in ICT events around the world also celebrate the contributions and accomplishments of women and girls to information and communication technology (ICT) as well as in the broad science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) field.
“It’s a global movement for girls and women’s empowerment through technology,” explained ITU Secretary-General Doreen Bogdan-Martin. “Digital skills can change lives.”
