Fox Entertainment’s AVOD/FAST streaming platform Tubi has broken through the 200 FAST channel milestone this week. Acquired by Fox in 2020 for US$440m, the platform has emerged as a major player in ad-funded stremaing alongside rival studio-backed services such as Peacock and Pluto, as well as challenger brands Roku and Rakuten.

In a statement, Tubi chief content officer Adam Lewinson said: “In just two short years, our FAST channel offering has evolved into a robust and popular pipeline of viewing options across news, sports and entertainment. We’re excited to continue delivering a best-in-class streaming experience that combines our massive on-demand library with a large ‘lean-back’ curation of linear channels.”

The 200-channel landmark follows recent additions including a FIFA World Cup FAST channel, Gordon Ramsay, The Masked Singer, Vice and TMZ (a brand within the Fox stable). The platform has also started investing in original content.

Tubi is part of a major transformation at Fox, since it sold a series of high-profile assets to Disney in 2019. The company has a strong presence at next week’s MIPCOM where CEO Rob Wade will lay out the company’s international strategy.
