Belgian telco Proximus has announced a partnership with video streaming and advertising technology provider Velocix.
The deal has seen the operator scale-out its Pickx multi-screen video service using Velocix’s CDN technology.
Proximus said that it will more than double its HTTP streaming capacity using Velocix’s carrier-grade CDN software. The Velocix CDN is designed to provide operators with a stable and flexible foundation for their IP video streaming businesses.
Proximus currently serves more than 1.7 million TV customers in Belgium, translating to 38 per cent of the total digital TV market. It launched its Android TV based Pickx video service in June 2019 and expanded it to Apple TV in 2020.
