Nigerian Telecoms Regulator To Hold Public Inquiry On National Roaming, Collocation Guidelines And AIS Business Rules

Independent telecommunications regulatory authority, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has planned to carry out a public inquiry on three draft regulatory instruments, in exercise of its functions under the Nigerian

Communications Act 2003.

A statement signed November 16, 2020, by the Commission’s Director of Public Affairs (DPA), Dr. Ikechukwu Adinde says the draft regulatory instruments, already on NCC’s website www.ncc.gov.ng, is to welcome stakeholders’ comments in respect of:

• Guidelines on National Roaming
• Guidelines on Collocation and Infrastructure Sharing (as amended) and
• Business Rules on Active Infrastructure Sharing (made pursuant to the provisions of the proposed amended Guidelines on Collocation and Infrastructure Sharing)

As explained by Dr. Adinde, in accordance with Section 57 of the Act, a Public Inquiry in respect of the above mentioned draft regulatory instruments has been scheduled to hold as follow:

Date: Wednesday, December 16, 2020

Venue: Virtual Meeting

Time: 11.00am

The statement reads in part: “Interested stakeholders are, by this notice, invited to make written submissions on the subject and participate in the Public Inquiry. Details of the virtual meeting will be forwarded to interested attendees prior to the Public Inquiry.
