As International Institute Of Communications Takes Webinar Series To West Africa

The International Institute of Communications(IIC) has announced that registration is open for the next webinar in its series on regulatory responses in Africa ‘Regulation in times of pandemic and lessons for the future’, information from the IIC Director-General, Lynn Robinson, seen by https://www.cyberera.com.ng, confirms.

We can authoritatively report that this time around, the webinar will focus on Western Africa, and will run for two hours and is a free to attend, and organizers have revealed that Nigeria’s chief telecommunications sector regulator and Executive Vice Chairman and chief Executive Officer(EVC/CEO) of the Nigerian Communications Communications Commission(NCC), Professor Umar Garba Danbatta is a confirmed speaker. But Prof. Danbatta will not be speaking alone. Other confirmed speakers include the Executive Secretary, National Media Commission of Ghana, George Sarpong and the moderator is the CEO of Balancing Act, Russell Southwood.

Regulators and industry policy makers will discuss the initiatives taken in response to the pandemic, particularly relating to the connectivity deficit, spectrum availability, digital infrastructure, health and education services, cybersecurity, and combating disinformation. They will highlight the unique challenges across the continent and also innovative responses – particularly involving mobile technology – developed in Africa for Africa.
