The National Bank of Hungary (MNB), in cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), is organising an international green financial conference on 12 October 2020. Subjects of discussion at the virtual event will include a green recovery after the coronavirus pandemic, an assessment of the adverse impacts of climate change and the funding opportunities for renewable energy.
In addition to MNB and EBRD, representatives of the Central Banks and Supervisors Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS) and other international partner institutions will join the discussion. Participants from Central Europe and wider Central Europe are expected to contribute to the event.
The language of the event will be English.
Three additional events will be linked to the programme. On October 13, a scientific conference will be held by the Corvinus University of Budapest (with support of the MNB) under the title Central-European Scientific Conference on Green Financial Matters and the Sustainable Development. From 13 to 16 October, jointly with the London Stock Exchange Group Academy, the Budapest Institute of Banking will launch an international training on the integration of environmental, social sustainability aspects for stock exchange issuers and investors. On 13 October, the European Commission’s Round Table of Energy Efficiency for Hungary will meet.
