NTT DATA Services recently announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire NETE, a digital design and transformation services provider for HHS.
According to the press release, NETE focuses on global advancements in health and biomedical research through digital services, agile application development, clinical and bioinformatics advanced data analytics, cloud, and cybersecurity. Through the acquisition, NTT DATA plans to leverage the capabilities of NETE to “further expand the company’s breadth of services across the public sector health space by growing its digital expertise in federal health.”
“NETE has pioneered innovative health technologies and supported the prevention, detection, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases and disabilities both domestically and internationally. Their digital capabilities and thought leadership enhance the value NTT DATA can deliver to our public sector healthcare clients,” said Tim Conway, president, public sector, NTT DATA Services. “The companies are also a great cultural fit, as NETE’s commitment to diversity perfectly complements NTT DATA’s global culture of acceptance and equality.”
The acquisition expected to close later this year will add more than 300 team members to the NTT DATA team, which the company hopes will benefit clients by combining digital services, consulting, and leadership services.
“NETE clients and employees will benefit from access to the vast resources of a top 10 technology and business services provider, including global R&D, infrastructure and investments in digital transformation and innovation,” said Managing Director, NETE, Sandeep Somaiya who will continue to serve as part of the NTT DATA public sector leadership team. “The depth and breadth of NTT DATA’s commercial experience among healthcare providers, health plans and life sciences, as well as its strong reputation in the public sector, will open the door for additional opportunities for NETE customers.”
The companies did not disclose the financial agreements of the acquisition, but they did note that the deal will be subject to the usual regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.
This is the second acquisition for NTT DATA this month. The company announced on Dec. 3 that it has a definitive agreement to acquire Flux7, an IT services firm that aims to improve business agility through IT delivery optimization and cloud-native application migration and modernization. Flux7 is also an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Premier Consulting partner.
NTT DATA means for the acquisition to boost value for its AWS customers and bolster the company’s ability to work in multi-cloud environments, according to CEO of NTT DATA Services, Bob Pryor.
“The acquisition of Flux7 will enhance the value we can deliver in AWS, DevOps, and Agile development capabilities, while aligning with our focus to drive digital services for our clients,” he said in the Dec. 3 announcement. “With an excellent brand, industry recognition and impressive client base, as well as a strong record of growth, Flux7 is a strategic fit for our business and part of our ongoing strategy of growth through acquisition.”
