Road safety regulatory agency in Nigeria, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), as part of concerted efforts to ensure free flow of traffic and the safety of lives and properties of road users, during the 59th Independence Day celebration, has urged Nigerians to embrace safety ideals, imbibe positive road behavior and adhere to all traffic rules and regulations, Cyber Era Online(www.cyberera.com.ng) learns.
FRSC information, seen by www.cyberera.com.ng, and authored by the Corps Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, says the Corps stressed the need for all road users to drive with caution and avoid any act that violates established traffic laws during the celebration period.
The Federal Road Safety Corps explained that it was aware of how much the country cherished its independence going by the series of festivities that formed part of the celebration, and warmly aligned in totality with the entire citizens in this historic moment.
The information states, the Corps Marshal, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi admonished motorists to apply all cautionary measures so as to achieve a crash free 59th Independence celebration while assuring full deployment of operational facilities across traffic prone areas and others to ensure a hitch free movement of persons and goods.
According to Oyeyemi, “To forestall all incidences of mishap on the road, I have directed Commanding Officers across the country to ensure full deployment of personnel and logistics for high visibility and to ensure prompt removal of obstructions and effective traffic management”
He wished the entire country a peaceful and safe celebration and called on the motoring public to utilize the FRSC Toll free numbers 122 and put a call through in the event of any crash, obstruction or emergency for prompt response.
