A Cross Section of Graduands

Ahead of its convocation later this year, the Department of Computer Science of Imo State University(IMSU), weekend, graduated twelve(12) Ph.D  students, Cyber Era Online(www.cyberera.com.ng) has gathered.  Other students are currently defending their projects.

Until now, the postgraduate school at IMSU was not attractive to postgraduate prospects given several bottlenecks that list snail speed graduation and lack of requisite manpower, among others.

The graduands were praised for their patience and stoic determination to succeed by the head of department(HOD) of Computer Science, Associate Professor Emmanuel Ekwonwune.

Among those who bagged post doctoral degrees at the weekend included The Lead correspondent, Fortune Obikwere, who has had a stint as an insurer. 

In an exclusive interview with our reporter, Ihiteowerri-born Fortune Obikwere, said he was full of gratitude to God for letting him achieve his dream.  Obikwere, who is the Community Liaison Officer, of the Community Government Council(CGC), thanked his lecturers and colleagues, especially, HOD Ekwonwune whom he dubbed his ‘expert equestrian’ and Professor Oliver Osuagwu, whom he called the ‘Charles Barbage of IMSU’, Professor Afam Anyanwu and Dr. Chris Ugwu, among others.

He appreciated his many benefactors, without whom he would not have achieved his dream, some of whom are: Mr. and Mrs. Ugochukwu Chigborogu, Chidi Nnadi Esq., Chike Obijiaku, Calistus Alisiobi and Chief James Nnadiekwe aka Anaegbuachara (Isiuzo Ihiteowerri) among others.
